NX Wedge Type Non Adjustable

Product Overview
The NX Wedge Type Non Adjustable is a specialized strain clamp designed for terminal fixing and tensioning of bundled insulated conductors on low-voltage overhead lines. Widely recognized in the industry under alternative names including dead-end clamp, tensile clamp, end clamp, anchor clamp, this product serves as a critical component in 1 kV LV bundled insulated conductors systems. The body and wedge of the clamp are made of malleable cast iron, hot-dip galvanized. The split pin is made of stainless steel, and the remaining parts are hot-dip galvanized steel.
Advantages
- “No insulation stripping required” — wedge core grips conductor directly through insulation layer, saving installation time
- “Non-magnetic aluminum body” — cast aluminum alloy construction eliminates magnetic hysteresis loss, improving energy efficiency
- “Reliable grip force” — reinforced nylon inner wedge provides stable, damage-free clamping without compromising conductor insulation
- “Weather-resistant design” — engineering plastic and aluminum components withstand UV exposure, temperature cycling, and outdoor conditions
- “Quick bolt-on installation” — tie-rod or tie-plate configurations allow fast field assembly without special tools

Material & Manufacturing
- Material: high-strength cast aluminum alloy
- Secondary components: reinforced nylon wedge core
- Surface treatment: Hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with ISO 1461 / ASTM A153 / IEC 61589, minimum zinc coating thickness 65 μm
- Manufacturing process: Precision forging, casting, or CNC machining of critical dimensions, followed by full galvanizing immersion. Dimensional accuracy controlled within ±0.5 mm tolerance on mounting interfaces
- Quality assurance: Every batch undergoes dimensional inspection, galvanizing thickness testing (magnetic or gravimetric method per ISO 2178), and visual surface examination. Mill test certificates (MTC) available upon request
Application Scope
- Terminal fixing and tensioning of bundled insulated conductors on low-voltage overhead lines
- Rural and urban LV distribution networks using bundled insulated cables (ABC cables)
- Temporary construction power lines and pole-to-pole connections
- Street lighting and service drop installations on insulated bundled conductors
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can NXJ clamps be used on bare conductors? A: NXJ clamps are specifically designed for bundled insulated conductors. For bare conductors, consider NLL or NXLH series bolt-type strain clamps.
Q: What conductor sizes are supported? A: NXJ series covers 2-core and 4-core configurations from 10 mm² to 120 mm² cross-section per core. Refer to the technical parameter table for exact compatibility.
Q: Is the wedge core replaceable? A: The reinforced nylon wedge core is factory-matched to each model. Contact us for replacement wedge cores or custom configurations.
