XJ Bundled Insulated Suspension Clamp

Product Overview
The XJ Bundled Insulated Suspension Clamp is a specialized suspension clamp designed for supporting and suspending conductors from insulator strings on towers and poles. Widely recognized in the industry under alternative names including suspension clamp, hanging clamp, conductor support clamp, clevis suspension clamp, this product serves as a critical component in overhead transmission and distribution lines systems. XJ bundled insulated suspension clamp is suitable for suspending insulated wires or bundled insulated wires in overhead line systems.
Advantages
- “Smooth conductor protection” — rubber or aluminum liner prevents conductor damage from vibration and abrasion
- “High mechanical strength” — forged steel or malleable iron body rated for heavy conductor loads and wind/ice conditions
- “Corona-proof design” — optimized body profile minimizes electric field distortion at high voltage points
- “Standardized coupling” — compatible with ball/clevis eye insulator fittings for universal tower attachment
- “Field-adjustable orientation” — allows conductor swing and rotation to accommodate thermal expansion and wind loading

Note: Made of high-strength cast aluminum alloy, no magnetic hysteresis loss. Inner liner made of high-strength reinforced nylon material, excellent insulation performance. Cross core strip continuously supports clamped cable, stronger grip force. ◆ Installation can be achieved without removing nuts, flat washers, etc. Dimensions may vary slightly based on manufacturing tolerances. Material & Manufacturing
- Material: malleable cast iron or forged steel
- Secondary components: hot-dip galvanized finish with rubber or aluminum liner
- Surface treatment: Hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with ISO 1461 / ASTM A153 / IEC 61589, minimum zinc coating thickness 65 μm
- Manufacturing process: Precision forging, casting, or CNC machining of critical dimensions, followed by full galvanizing immersion. Dimensional accuracy controlled within ±0.5 mm tolerance on mounting interfaces
- Quality assurance: Every batch undergoes dimensional inspection, galvanizing thickness testing (magnetic or gravimetric method per ISO 2178), and visual surface examination. Mill test certificates (MTC) available upon request
Application Scope
- Supporting and suspending conductors from insulator strings on towers and poles
- Suspension points on transmission towers for ACSR, AAAC, and ACAR conductors
- Pole-top and crossarm conductor support on distribution lines
- River crossing and long-span suspension applications
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between XJ and XGU clamps? A: XJ is the general suspension clamp series. XGU (U-bolt type) uses a U-bolt mechanism instead of a keeper plate for conductor retention.
Q: Do suspension clamps need vibration dampers? A: On long spans or high-wind areas, aeolian vibration can damage conductors at suspension points. Stockbridge dampers or armor rods are recommended.
Q: What liner material is used? A: Standard liners are rubber or elastomer. Aluminum alloy liners are available for extra-heavy-duty or high-temperature applications.
